Motorbike
Clients occasionally wave when they see me on the road (At least, that's what I think their hand-signals suggest!). It's nice to be recognised (occasionally) and always to answer questions about motorcycles in general.
I do take safety seriously, and can recommend one of the Police-run Bikesafe training courses. I try to ride defensively and to respect other road users. Learning to ride a motorcycle alerted me to how sloppy a car driver I was and I am so glad I did it.
Occasionally, I do use four wheels for visits. 'Huck' is a little red Year 2000 Mazda MX-5 1.8RS (a rare Japanese import), unemblazoned with nepc decals, but welcome when the weather's poor (ice is a no-no for motorcycles) or when I have something to transport.
To find my way around, I have found the Garmin Quest and ideal tool. It's old now, but waterproof and clips onto the bike securely. When I get a new client, I also find that 'Googling' their postcode on my iPhone4 shows me where I am going. If I don't have a Postcode, I use the Post Office Postcode lookup service - very handy!
